Our Events

Our events aim to highlight the voices of female industry leaders and provide resources for undergraduates looking to make an impact in finance, economics, and public policy. With these goals in mind, we invite professionals from both inside and outside the University to speak about their experiences in these fields and host both casual and career-oriented events.

Girls Who Invest x WEP Info Session
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, we hosted an info session for current WEP membership to learn about Girls Who Invest and their programs from past GWI scholars!

WEP Welcome Back Mentorship Dinner

On Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, we hosted our annual mentorship dinner! We invited WEP mentorship across class years to join us for a brief presentation about our mentorship program and tons and tons of food.

On Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 WEP had it’s annual mentorship kickoff event! We had an ice cream social for all current WEP mentors and mentees.

Leading in Law & Finance
We are hosting an in-person event with Citi Managing Director Ann McKeehan ’00. She will be sharing her journey of going from studying religion at Princeton to leading at the intersection of law and finance.

Woman Founder Spotlight Featuring Amira Polack ‘12
Amira Polack ’12 will be sharing how she turned her passion and side gig into a successful venture. She is the Founder and CEO of Struct Club, an app that elevates music-inspired fitness. Prior to founding Struct Club, Amira led initiatives at Kespry and SAP, and worked in the social enterprise space in the Philippines and South Africa. She graduated from Princeton in 2012, with a concentration in SPIA and certificates in African Studies and Spanish. She also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and sits on the Board of Directors of the Women Fitness Association.

Financial Wellness and Women in Wealth Management with Orina Chang
Orina Chang is an Alternative Investments Director, International Client Advisor, and Senior Portfolio Manager within the Wealth Management division of Morgan Stanley. She will be sharing her experiences of being a woman leader in wealth management and advice on maintaining personal financial wellness. Orina has over 25 years of experience managing institutional and retail investments, with previous roles at private equity firms and hedge funds. She is also a champion for diversity in wealth management and a strong believer in the importance of financial literacy and education. She received a B.A. and M.B.A. at Columbia University, where she also established the Orina Chang Scholarship Fund.

Meet & Greet with Alpine Investors
WEP is excited to start off the semester with a private equity event led by Alpine Investors! This event will be held next Tuesday (2/16) from 5-6 pm ET and will be co-hosted with Tiger Capital Management and Tiger Investments. Alpine Investors is a San Francisco-based private equity firm that is reimagining the PE space with over $2.7 billion in assets under management across 7 funds.

Join Women in Economics & Policy for a conversation Friday (10/30) 4:00-4:45 pm ET with Mary D’Onofrio, a VP at Bessemer Venture Partners, a top venture capital firm investing out of their $6B fund. We’ll be discussing career opportunities in venture capital, D’Onofrio’s role at Bessemer Venture Partners, and her experiences as a female leader in the finance industry. We hope to see you there!

Princeton Women in Economics & Policy is excited to invite you to our next talk on April 11th, “What I did (and didn’t) learn in Econ class: Reflections on my leadership experiences” with Skillful CEO Beth Cobert! The discussion will focus on leadership and lessons she has learned as a senior executive in business, government, and the non-profit sector in addition to other insights she has gained throughout her extensive career.

Book Club: Women and Work
For Women in Economics & Policy’s November Book Club meeting this Thursday (Nov. 16 at 5:30pm), we’ll be chatting about “Women & Work” in Room 397 of the Louis A Simpson International Building. We will be discussing how policymakers can reform the workplace to narrow the wage gap and labor force participation gap between women and men. Professor Bogan will be joining us for this meeting!

Discussion with Alice Wu: Gender Stereotyping in Academia
This discussion, based on recent work by Alice Wu, will focus on sexism and gender stereotyping in academia, particularly in the economics profession. Alice will present her work, followed by a panel discussion with some of the female faculty and graduate students in Economics. The New York Times recently featured her paper.

Shara Aranoff
Shara Aranoff is a former Chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission, as nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate, and former Senior International Trade Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, where she was responsible for trade and investment issues. She has over 20 years of experience in US government. Today, she serves as counsel in trade law to Covington LLP. Shara is an alum of the Woodrow Wilson School and Harvard Law. Please join us for a conversation with Ms. Aranoff. She will share challenges she’s faced and overcome in her career in government as a woman as well as a few highlights in her work in trade policy and negotiation. Come if you’re interested in government or in trade and investment issues!

Midterms Study Break – Coloring + DIY Goody Bags!
Take a break from studying this Thursday to come hang out with the board and meet other women in Economics and Policy departments. We will also share A+ workload management and study tips! We will have color pencils and outlines for some relaxing grown-up coloring (featuring coloring pages from Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and fall themes!). Also, come make your own goody-bag!
