Who We Are
Princeton Women in Economics and Policy (WEP) is an organization that seeks to inspire and empower women undergraduates who are interested in studying or building careers in economics, business, finance, politics, or public policy. Our mission is to leverage the collective experience to provide mentorship and resources. With this goal in mind, we host career-oriented workshops, speaking events, and a year-long mentorship program connecting members on campus.
This organization is open to all Princeton University students interested in supporting our organization’s mission, regardless of identity, such as race, sex, ethnicity, national origin, or other protected characteristics.
Our Programs
Some of the most influential women leaders in economics, business, finance, public policy, and politics are Princeton graduates. These inspiring alumni include Queen Noor of Jordan (‘73), Sonia Sotomayor (‘76), Meg Whitman (‘77), Andrea Jung (CEO of Grameen Bank, ‘79), Anne-Marie Slaughter (‘80), Elena Kagan (‘81), Michelle Obama (‘85), Wendy Kopp (‘89), and Ellen Pao (‘91). Our goal at WEP is to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders from Princeton.
Mentorship Our mentorship program aims to connect young undergraduates with upperclassmen in economics, business, finance, public policy, and more.
Resources Every two weeks, we send out a newsletter that contains upcoming events, opportunities, deadlines, as well as advice from our network of upperclass mentors.
Career Opportunities In addition to our mentorship program, we publicize internship opportunities and host career-oriented workshops in fields of interest.
Community With the goal of community in mind, we also host casual events and invite professionals from both inside and outside the University to speak to our central themes.
